About Gemma Farr

Gemma Farr

With a love of art and craft from an early age, a Foundation Diploma in Art was the obvious choice for Gemma after A levels.

On completion of the course at Hereford College of Art, Gemma then studied for a degree in Jewellery Design at Middlesex University, where students were encouraged to explore new approaches and experiment with a wide range of materials. She graduated in 2005.

Gemma became gallery assistant to Sara Preisler (Birmingham) in 2006 and workshop assistant to contemporary jeweller Sue Lane (Hereford) in 2007.

Gemma is a popular and skilled crafts tutor, with a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. She has taught for Worcestershire County Council’s Libraries & Learning Service, and Worcestershire College of Technology (Heart of Worcestershire College). Gemma now teaches silver jewellery classes for Warwickshire College Group; teaching for 6 years at Leamington Spa, and also at Malvern School of Art. Alongside this she runs independent workshops at Three Little Pigs, near Pershore, and on behalf of Silver Tree Studio at Bransford’s The Fold (see courses page for latest dates & further details).

Since 2014, Gemma has been a full-time Art & Craft Technician at Malvern School of Art.

In her busy schedule, Gemma continues to enjoy developing designs and making her own silver jewellery, examples of which can be viewed on the Gallery page.
