About Gemma Farr

Gemma Farr

With a love of art and craft from an early age, a Foundation Diploma in Art was the obvious choice for Gemma after A levels.

On completion of the course at Hereford College of Art, Gemma then studied for a degree in Jewellery Design at Middlesex University, where students were encouraged to explore new approaches and experiment with a wide range of materials. She graduated in 2005.

Gemma became gallery assistant to Sara Preisler (Birmingham) in 2006 and workshop assistant to contemporary jeweller Sue Lane (Hereford) in 2007.

Since 2008 she has worked for Jon Williams at Eastnor Pottery, where she assists in the running of the business and in leading clay workshops for children and adults.

Gemma is a popular and skilled crafts tutor. She teaches silver jewellery making at Worcester College of Technology, and recreational craft workshops for Worcestershire County Council's Libraries and Learning Service, with a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector due to be completed in June 2012.

In her busy schedule, Gemma continues to enjoy developing designs and making her own silver jewellery, examples of which can be viewed on the Gallery page.
